Dudley M. Hughes was an extremely innovative man. He formed a gospel quartet that traveled singing in churches and any venue that would have them. The Dudley M. Hughes Quartet, as they were known, had their own Sunday morning program on Channel 4 in Dallas for over 20 years. The program was entitled "Songs of Inspiration" and was the choice for families all over the metroplex to watch as they prepared to go to Sunday morning services. Advertisement and sponsorship of the program was the funeral homes. Even today families still remember and reminisce about those Sunday mornings and the beautiful singing by the quartet.
