Corinna Rhodes Johnson Life Story

Corinna Ann Rhodes Johnson, known affectionately as "Cory," "Love Bug," "Locita," and "Chikkita Flakka," brought joy and warmth wherever she went. Born on July 24, 1996, in Dallas, Texas, to Randy Rhodes and Linda Johnson, she passed away tragically on April 15, 2024, in Dallas, Texas.

Cory’s vibrant spirit was evident from the start. She rode her purple moped, lovingly named "Limo," around to various places, a unique sight that captured her free-spirited nature. A true life-of-the-party, Cory loved dancing and karaoke, and her eclectic taste in music—spanning Latin, country, and R&B—embodied her diverse interests. She found joy in the simple things, like watching Disney movies, with Frozen holding a special place in her heart. In her leisure time, Cory enjoyed playing games on her phone, particularly online casinos, and indulging in her favorite treats—McDonald's and Snickers. Her love for Halloween was infectious, as she dressed up each year, bringing creativity and joy to every costume.

An aspiring model, Cory dreamed big and chased her passions fearlessly. Cory was a girly girl at heart, enamored with makeup, jewelry, and dressing up. She had a soft spot for animals, especially her beloved dog, "Cookie," and cherished her feline friends too. Cory’s love for butterflies extended beyond admiration; she often drew them, finding solace and beauty in their delicate wings.  But amidst her dreams and passions, her greatest joy was being a mother. She adored her son, sharing moments filled with video games, trips to Main Event, swimming at Great Wolf Lodge, bouncing on the trampoline, and annual visits to the Texas State Fair.

Cory's magnetic personality lit up any room she entered. With a heart of gold, she touched the lives of many and forged deep connections with her countless friends.  Her love of life brought joy to her friends and family. They could always count on her to brighten their day with her smile, her laugh, or her carefree spirit. Cory’s family were beyond blessed to be in her life, just as she was blessed to have them in her life. Her light left and impression on all who had the pleasure to know her.

Cory’s life and memory is celebrated by her son, Santiago Rafael Johnson; her mother, Linda Sue Johnson; her sister, Erica Lopez Hernandez; her brother, Raymond Lopez, Jr.; her grandfather, Curtis Johnson; and many, many friends and extended family. Cory is preceded in death by her father, Randy Russell Rhodes and her grandmother, Natividad Johnson.

Though her passing leaves a void, Cory's memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her. Her laughter, kindness, and zest for life will continue to inspire and uplift us all.  In honoring Cory's memory, let us celebrate the joy she brought into our lives and strive to embody the warmth and love she shared with everyone she knew. Rest in peace, dear Cory. You will be deeply missed.
