Day of the Dead Celebration

Since 1919, Hughes Family Tribute Center has been serving the community through the many programs and services we offer throughout the year. Here is a list of events we help sponsor in our community and we invite you to join us in the future.

Operation Valentine - Every Valentine's Day, we get together people in our community to send Valentine's Day cards to military service personnel that is overseas. This has been a very popular event and over the years we have sent thousands of cards to soldiers who need the love and support of family and friends at home.

Mother's Day Butterfly Release - Every year on Mother's Day we sponsor a butterfly release to honor those mothers that are not with us anymore and also to give thanks to those mothers who are still with us! It's an incredible experience seeing the butterflies released into the heavens and it is a great help for those people still grieving the loss of a special person in their life.

Crawfish Boil - Dallas Texas A & M - This is a really fun event that we put on for the university.  It's a great fun for all who attend.

Day of the Dead Celebration - This is a special event focuses on the gathering of friends and family to pray for the dead and to remember those family members and friends who have died. It is a celebration to help support the spiritual journey of those who have passed. It is held in early November.

Candlelight Service of Remembrance - During the holiday season, we hold a candlelight service where people can come into our facility and light a candle in remembrance of a loved one.  It helps provide hope and healing during this time of year, which can be difficult for those who have lost a close loved one. 

Wreaths Across America - Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery - Our funeral home is proud to be the official local sponsorship outlet for Wreaths Across America. This is an amazing event where wreaths are placed on the graves of our fallen soldiers and military personnel.

Movies in the Park - In the fall we offer movies during the evening at our mausoleum. This is a very popular event with our families in the community.
