Jason Frantz Life Story

Jason was born on March 4, 1972 in Newton, Kansas.  He was the first born child of Robert and Janet Frantz. Jason was a graduate of McPherson High School and McPherson College. He majored in Spanish with a minor in business.  After working as a heart cath tech, EMT and medical insurance billing clerk in Kansas, he moved to Dallas, TX where he was employed by UT Southwestern Medical Center in various areas for almost 17 years and was a Medical Compliance Auditor at the time of his passing on June 30, 2018.

Jason was preceded in death by his father, Robert Frantz; paternal grandparents, Cornelius and Dena Frantz; maternal grandparents, Roy and Genevieve Fletcher; and uncle, Norman Frantz.  He is survived by his mother, Janet Frantz Stewart (Rex) of Joshua, TX; sister, Emily Frantz of Galva, KS; brother, Matthew Frantz (Allison) and niece, Kayley and nephews, Landon and Devin, all of McPherson, KS; step sister, Shelley Noe (James) and family of Burleson, TX; step brother, Shawn Stewart (Tina) and family of Keller, TX; uncle, Richard Frantz (Rita) of Black Hawk, SD; and aunt, Debra Frantz of Mulvane, KS; and cousins and many friends.

Jason had many interests which included photography, writing stories and poetry, cooking, gardening, and traveling. He traveled to Mexico twice with his high school Spanish Club and many times after as an adult.  As a college freshman, he accompanied a Habitat group to Guatemala as their interpreter.  During his junior year of college he lived and studied in Quito, Ecuador. He surprised his mother with a trip to Oahu for Mother’s Day in 2007 and visited Maui in 2015. He also took a trip to Australia which had been on his “bucket list”.   During his recent treatments for cancer, he started plans for another trip to the Hawaiian Islands.

The saying that you can take the boy off the farm but can’t take the farm out of the man was true of Jason. As a kid growing up on a dairy farm, he had a host of pets including goats and a chicken named Archimedes.  He adopted three dogs from the animal shelter in Dallas. Missy, Lexi and Oso were dear to his heart.  Jason also volunteered at a nearby ranch caring for horses and helping with trail rides.

He was blessed with a great circle of friends, professional and social, and will be missed by all.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
