Susan Diane (Peters) MacLeod

Susan Diane Peters MacLeod, age 76 of Cedar Hill Texas, passed away on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, 2019. She was born to the late Brownie and Mildred Peters on July 4, 1943.

Susan’s life was defined by service to others. After graduating highschool, Susan joined the United States Air Force to serve her country as an air traffic controller. As a caring and doting mother, she raised two children whom she taught the meaning of caring and compassion for others. Professionally, Susan dedicated her life to helping, caring and advocating for the physically challenged through her work at United Cerebral Palsy, and for the elderly by leading and administering several senior living centers.

Always a loving and giving person, Susan made close friends and meaningful relationships across the country, but in her final years, she returned home to Texas and was blessed with the love and nurtured caring of her closest family and neighborhood friends.

Susan is survived by her two children (Jennifer and Stewart), eight grandchildren (Cody, RJ, Sierra, Brian, Rebecca, Catherine, Joanna, and Tiffany), two great-granchildren (Xander and Ryker), two brothers and sisters- in-law (Alan, Charlotte, Steve, and Linda) and other close relatives and friends.

Celebration of Susan’s life will be held at Faith Bible Church in DeSoto Tx. on Saturday, November 16, 2019. Visitation at 10:00 am with service to follow at 11:00 am. Please check with the funeral home for further information: Hughes Family Tribute Center, 9700 Webb Chapel Rd, Dallas, Tx. 75220.
