Beverly Corbin Life Story

On June 17, 2022 Beverly June Corbin left us to be with her loving Lord and Savior, whom she loved with all her heart.

Bev was born on December 14, 1932 in Fairbury, Nebraska to Johnathan Nicholas Chaney and Minnie Dorene Chaney (Corbin) and an older brother, Robert Eugene. She grew up in a loving, close-knit family and came to know the Lord as her personal savior in Salina, Kansas when she was thirteen. After graduating from Topeka High School, she attended Northwestern Bible College (now University of Northwestern) in Minnesota before moving back to Topeka to help with the declining health of her dad. She then took a semester at Kansas City Bible College (now Calvary Bible College) and attended Topeka Bible Church where she met William Birtell, who she soon married in 1956. They raised three children while Bill practiced veterinary medicine in the Auburn, KS area. She later married Rex Corbin in 1987 and was a loving mother to his three children.

Bev was a talented artist and her creativity touched many areas of her life. Her home was always welcoming and in good taste. Her art work is highly valued by her family. She led and attended several Bible studies while raising her children in Auburn, KS and was a treasured and respected teacher to many there.

She is deeply loved and missed by her husband, Rex, of 35 years; children Judy (Charlie) May, Doug (Sharon) Birtell, and Greta Birtell; stepchildren Teresa Rustemeyer, Melanie Hackett, James (Danielle) Corbin; grandchildren Faith (Mark) Bohn, Seth May, and Zachary May; step-grandchildren Levi Knapp, Lucas Green, Seth (Toni) Rustemeyer, Megan Hackett, Jamison (Madison) Corbin, Jaylen Corbin, Ady Marie Corbin and Max Corbin. She also has eight step great-grandchildren, and one step great-great grandchild.

An inurnment ceremony will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas on Friday, July 1 at 10 am.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. (II Timothy 4:7-8)
