It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rodrigo Martinez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished friend. Rodrigo's journey on this earth came to an end on September 6, 2023, leaving behind a legacy that will forever echo in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born on March 13, 1937, in Mapimí, Durango, Mexico, Rodrigo was the son of Vicente Martinez and Felicitas Serrano. From the very beginning, Rodrigo's life was filled with an unmistakable zest for music and adventure. He was a musician at heart, wielding his guitar and lending his captivating voice to the beloved band, Los Norteños de Nuevo Laredo. With his bandmates, he embarked on countless musical journeys, touring through the vibrant landscapes of Mexico.

Rodrigo was a man of many interests and enjoyed the thrill of a gamble. Whether it was at the game rooms in Dallas, a friendly game of Loteria, or a scratch-off ticket, he embraced the excitement of the moment with a twinkle in his eye. His zest for life extended beyond the stage and gaming tables, making every moment in his company an adventure.

Rodrigo is survived by his devoted wife, Maria Martinez; his loving daughters, Maria, Yolanda, and Raquel Martinez; his adoring sons, Rodrigo, Jose, Oscar, Martin, Raul, Quentin, Mario, and Vicente Martinez; numerous cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

He is preceded in death by his sons, Feliz and Manuel Martinez.

Rodrigo Martinez's legacy will live on through his music, his love for chance, and the enduring memories he created with those he touched. He will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, unwavering passion, and the joy he brought into the lives of so many.
